Monk Took Book Official Links
SquarePlay's doors, written out. This fan wiki is not one of them.
This page is a fan listing. Monk Took Book is made by SquarePlay Games — Alastair and Sarah — and sold on Steam. monktookbook.wiki is not the studio, not the store, and not a support desk. If a recap here disagrees with a Steam news post, believe SquarePlay. If you need a human who can change the build, you need the addresses below, not a wiki talk page.
Use these URLs as written. Do not follow a search ad that prepends a coupon domain. Do not install a helper exe that promises infinite Blessings. The official software is the Steam client plus app 4022090 (paid) or 4255310 (demo).
Steam store (paid game)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4022090/Monk_Took_Book/
This is the launch SKU. It went live Thursday 3 September 2026 (UK late afternoon) with the news post Monk Took Book hath launched. Steam showed Positive reviews at launch, 52 achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Deck Playable, and partial controller support on the store card. An introductory 10% off ran until 17 September 2026. English is the shipped interface and full audio language. Online co-op is 1–4 monks; there is no split-screen.
Buy here if you want the Legendary Collection, the achievement list, and lobbies that paid players actually join. Read launch news for the trailer context and the rain joke. Read the review only after you have shelved a barge; a store quote from GameDaily or ComicBuzz is not your night.
Confirm a desktop GPU first: system requirements. Integrated and low-spec mobile laptop GPUs are unsupported. The 10% window is not a reason to skip that check.
Steam demo
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4255310/Monk_Took_Book_Demo/
The demo launched 6 March 2026, received major update 0.6.3.7 for Next Fest (15 June 2026), and remained live after the paid launch. SquarePlay said so the day before release. It teaches five or six nights of the job: barge, tapestry, shelves, belfry, light combat, sliders. It cannot connect to full-game lobbies. Different App IDs are not a bug. Full explanation: demo versus full game.
If a Discord friend pastes a code and nothing happens, look at which of these two store pages they own. Then look at which you launched. Then stop regenerating codes.
SquarePlay site
https://www.squareplaygames.com/monk-took-book
The studio site is the quiet official page: a description of the co-op action memory game and a pointer at Steam. It will not replace patch notes. It will not host your save. Use it when you want to confirm the developer name, the other SquarePlay titles (Overcrowd, Space Trash Scavenger) for context, or a press kit if they post one. Do not scrape it for wiki text; we rewrite from play and from Steam posts.
Discord
https://discord.gg/squareplaygames
This is the community SquarePlay pointed playtesters at in October 2025 and kept pointing at through the demo. It is the right place for looking-for-group among people who own the same app, for hearing when a hotfix is cooking, and for not being alone with a spider. It is not a second Steam support ticket system. File a repro with F1 in game when you can; paste a summary in Discord after if the team asks.
Lobby codes in Discord expire in the usual social way: the host went to the crypt, the host swapped to the demo, the host went to bed. Ask which App ID before you ask for a new code. Co-op covers in-game voice; Discord is the out-of-game table.
X
The studio account posted the demo date, the Next Fest trailer, the 3 September date (“in but two weeks hence”), and the launch line. It is a horn, not an archive. For a dated recap, prefer Steam news via launch news and patch notes. Follow X if you want the next trailer the hour it exists. Do not treat a reply gif as a patch.
Support mail and F1
hello [at] squareplaygames.com
Write from a real address, name the app ID (4022090 or 4255310), the build if you know it, and what you pressed. Attach an F1 report if you filed one. Hardware: OS, CPU, desktop GPU model. “It lags” plus an iGPU is a spec miss, not a mystery; read system requirements before you send that mail.
F1 inside the abbey is faster for gameplay bugs. That is how 0.5.x ladder, HUD 16:10, shelf prices (4 then up, not a flat 6), pest AI, and loading-screen beasts moved. Keep the key bound; settings and controls explain the menu around it.
This wiki cannot open tickets, reset Cloud, or refund Steam purchases. Use Steam’s own refund policy for store issues. Use SquarePlay mail for the game. Use this page only to find those doors.
How the wiki should sit beside these links
- News and date: launch news, then Steam.
- Numbers: patch notes, then the Steam post with the same version.
- First night: getting started and how to play.
- Map and memory: monastery map, how to organize, memory planner.
- Fighting: combat, weapons.
- Spending: blessings, perks.
- Opinion: review after you have a night, not instead of the store page.
- Index of the rest: links hub, guides, updates, tools, players, tier list.
If SquarePlay adds a new official URL, it belongs on this page first. Until then, the six doors above are the whole official set: two Steam apps, one site, one Discord, one X account, one mail drop.
Bookmark the SquarePlay Discord for build talk, and this wiki for shelf talk. Do not treat our recaps as patch law until Alastair posts the number, and do not mail the studio about a mnemonic we invented on paper.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for novices tending the Holy Island library.
Is monktookbook.wiki run by SquarePlay?
No. It is an unofficial fan wiki. Official channels are Steam, the SquarePlay site, Discord, X, and hello [at] squareplaygames.com.
What is the paid Steam URL?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4022090/Monk_Took_Book/ — launched 3 September 2026. Recap: launch news.
What is the demo URL?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4255310/Monk_Took_Book_Demo/ — still live, different App ID, no mixed lobbies. See demo versus full game.
How do I contact support?
Press F1 in game for a repro, or email hello [at] squareplaygames.com with app ID, hardware, and what you did. This wiki cannot file that ticket.
Where should I read a review?
Play a night, then read the wiki review. Store pull quotes are not a substitute for the checkout desk.
Which Discord is official?
https://discord.gg/squareplaygames — the invite SquarePlay prints on Steam and X. Random "monk LFG" servers are not the studio.
