Achievements and Collection

Monk Took Book ships with 52 Steam achievements and Steam Cloud. The campaign those trophies sit on is the Legendary Collection: every book type the abbey can hold, hauled from the dock by day and proven at the checkout desk by night. This page maps the trophies we can actually name onto that loop. It does not invent the other forty names. Steam’s public schema for app 4022090 is not a dump we can scrape without a key, and SquarePlay has not published a full list on the storefront. If a name is not in the verified set below, treat internet guesswork as fan fiction.

You do not need all 52 to finish a satisfying library. Combat is optional. Several of the names we do have are kill trophies. You can run a chilled cataloguing shift with pests and spirits off in settings and still chase collection, shelf, and perk trophies. You cannot claim a Grunt kill with beasts disabled. Decide the night you want, then pick the subset.

The campaign trophy versus the kill list

Complete thy collection is the sentence the abbey was built for. Unique illustrated covers arrive at the dock with symbols and no titles. You invent a filing system, spend Blessings on shelf sites and chambers, and keep those types alive through fire, rats, and the Book Thief. The HUD type counter (it can read like 90/101) is the honest score. Read how to organize and the memory planner before you treat this trophy as a combat checklist. A burned unique cover is a collection problem first.

Unlock shelf 4 is a growth trophy. Carpentry, Blessings, and the shop that sells the next bay are the path, not a secret boss. Follow the spend order on Blessings: unlock the shelf sites you need to sort the morning delivery, buy the ladder that lets you reach them, then pray. The walkthrough and monastery map tell you when the hall is ready for a fourth shelf instead of a prettier dagger.

Attain perk: dash speed is a crypt trophy. SquarePlay lists Strength, Speed, and Carpentry as the perk skills you pray for downstairs. Dash speed sits in that Speed family. Walk to the shrine and read the card in front of you; we do not invent the other perk trophy names. The perk tier list ranks the theme. The trophy only cares that you bought it.

A Wise Choice is a verified name whose trigger SquarePlay has not spelled out in public notes we trust. Do not follow a fake “choose the left door” guide. Play the loop, take the decisions the abbey actually offers (peaceful sliders, spend order, whether to fight), and let Steam pop it. If a later patch note names the condition, this page will quote that note. Until then, the honest text is: the name exists; the recipe does not.

Verified kill and thief trophies

These names are real. They are also optional content. Turning enemies down or off in Game Options will block them. That is intended.

  • Kill a rat — vermin in the hall and along the hill. Kick, torch, dagger, or let Lord Fluffy hunt. Do not swing through uncatalogued piles.
  • Kill a spider and Kill a jumping spider — two separate trophies. Jumping variants close distance faster. Arachnophobia mode replaces models with text; the threat, and the trophy, can still exist. If spiders are a hard no, you are allowed to skip these forever.
  • Kill an archer — the man-sized rabbit archers on hill, mezzanine, and snowy lines of sight. A crossbow is the clean answer; fire bolts carry about a fifty percent ember chance, so do not pop this trophy by burning a bay.
  • Kill a grunt, Kill a raider, Kill a berserker — the Viking Draugr ladder. Grunts are the basic melee haunt. Raiders hit harder and block more. Berserkers are the ones you do not 1v1 in a narrow aisle. Perfect Parry, then leave. The combat guide is the how. This page only cares that the names are three trophies, not one.
  • To catch a thief — recover what the Book Thief stole. Follow green footprints, pick the volumes up, and put them back. Catching him is a conservation job; dumping the books on a random table still wrecks tomorrow’s memory. Full loop: how to protect the collection.

There are more kill and milestone names in the 52. We will not mint them. If Steam shows you one in the overlay, believe the overlay, not a wiki that padded a table.

How to hunt without wrecking the library

Trophy hunting in this game fails the same way nights fail: you forget the checkout. Do not start a Berserker duel with three scribe orders left on a four-player clock (about 55 percent of solo time). Park stacks, then fight. Douse fire before you chase a spider into a dry bay. Repair with the quill after a messy hunt so Complete thy collection does not stall on tattered stock.

A practical split:

  1. Finish getting started and one clean night from how to play so the loop is muscle memory.
  2. Grow shelves and types until Unlock shelf 4 and the type counter are moving. That is the real game.
  3. Buy dash speed when Speed is the shrine in front of you, not because a list said so on night one.
  4. Open a dedicated “haunt on” save, or flip the sliders up on an existing save you can stand to lose stock on, and knock the kill names in empty aisles. The enemy tier list says which fights are library-safe.
  5. Leave the Book Thief on for at least one night if you want To catch a thief. Follow prints immediately.

Co-op can split the hunt: one monk peels, one fetches, one owns the pail. Do not all four pile onto a Raider while a unique cover burns. See co-op and solo versus co-op.

Demo, Cloud, and what 52 does not mean

The demo (app 4255310) stays live after the 3 September 2026 launch and cannot join full-game lobbies. Treat demo trophies as practice. The paid app 4022090 is where the 52-count lives. Do not assume a demo pop copies across. Demo versus full is the lobby rule; this page is the trophy rule.

Steam Cloud is enabled. Manual and autosave both exist. Save before a stupid fire-arrow experiment. Cloud is not a reason to hunt on an unsupported iGPU; read system requirements first.

Launch week still carries the introductory 10 percent off through 17 September 2026. That discount does not add achievements. Launch news covers price and the trailer. English is the only shipped interface and full audio language; trophy names you see in Steam will be the English strings even if you read this wiki in French, German, or Spanish.

What this page refuses to do

We will not publish a 52-row table of guessed titles. We will not claim hidden missables we have not seen. We will not tell you to leave arachnophobia off “for completion” if spiders are the reason you would uninstall. SquarePlay shipped granular difficulty because the abbey is a memory toy first. A complete Legendary Collection with pests off is a finished campaign. A full Steam 52 is a second campaign you opt into.

When SquarePlay or Steam makes the rest of the list checkable without fiction, we will add those names here and only those names. Until then, play the dock, file the covers, ring the belfry, and let the overlay surprise you. The collection is the point. The extra forty strings are not a reason to set the library on fire.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for novices tending the Holy Island library.

How many achievements does Monk Took Book have?

Steam lists 52. This page only names the ones we can verify. We will not invent the rest of the table.

Do I need combat trophies to finish the game?

No. Combat is optional. Complete thy collection is the campaign. Kill trophies need the matching foes left on in settings.

What does Complete thy collection mean?

Fill the Legendary Collection: every book type the abbey can hold. File unique covers, keep them unburned, and repair tattered stock with the quill.

How do I unlock Unlock shelf 4?

Spend Blessings on shelf growth and carpentry until the fourth shelf site is available. See Blessings and the walkthrough.

What is To catch a thief?

Recover books the Book Thief stole by following green footprints. The full conservation loop is on how to protect the collection.

Will the demo unlock the full 52?

Treat the demo as practice. App 4255310 cannot join paid lobbies, and we do not assume demo pops copy to 4022090. See demo versus full.
